Your future begins in Siegen
The aim of the Master's degree program in Social Work is to acquire sound specialist knowledge and skills for activities in the areas of management, planning and development in socio-educational fields of work. The Master's degree program also opens up further opportunities for a scientific academic career (social pedagogical doctorate following the Master's degree). The broad academic perspective is to be deepened in one of three focus areas - "Challenges in child and youth welfare", "Participation of people with disabilities" or "Social work and crime". This should enable graduates to develop a (customizable) socio-educational profile.

Career prospects
Although the Bachelor's degree in social work and the associated state recognition as a social pedagogue is regarded as the standard qualification in social work, relevant studies indicate that an individual combination of higher qualifications (Master's degree), specific further training and practical experience can further increase career opportunities in social work. The Master's degree also opens up further professional fields, for example in science.
