from 1968 Assistant and doctorate (1974) at the Institute for Production Automation at the TU Berlin
1976 to 1989 Management of industrial development projects in the fields of NC programming, flexible manufacturing systems, production planning and control and anthropocentric production systems at the project sponsors Humanization of Working Life (DLR Bonn) and Production Engineering (Karlsruhe Research Centre).
1989 to 2005 Research Director for Production Systems at the Institute for Work and Technology at the North Rhine-Westphalia Science Centre, specializing in the design of computer-aided work and organizational change.
Since 2005 retired, at the same time research consultant and lecturer for "IT in Organizations", honorary professor at the University of Siegen.
Member of the Leibniz-Society of Sciences and Humanities in Berlin
