Welcome Week for First-Year Students for the 2026/27 Winter Semester
Before the winter semester begins, both university-wide events and department-specific Welcome Weeks (ESEs) will take place. The university-wide events are open to students in all disciplines. You can expect a variety of formats designed to welcome you to campus and provide you with interdisciplinary support as you begin your studies. Participation in these events is voluntary.
The department-specific ESEs focus on introducing you to your degree program. Here, for example, you’ll learn how your program is structured and which courses you should choose. The program also includes opportunities to get to know your fellow students. To ensure you start your studies well-prepared, you should attend the ESE for your major(s). You can find detailed information on the Schools websites as well as on the teacher education program.
