"Julius Eastman - Buddha" - workshop concert
Julius Eastman's Buddha is an experiment and a surprise - on a single page of the score there are several lines of music of different lengths, containing individual short and longer notes. There is no time signature, no notated rhythm, even the instruments are not specified, and there is no indication of the duration of the piece. The ensemble decides what music will be created, and it is different for each performance. Buddha is a constantly changing, indeterminate sound object.
