Advice on discrimination and sexualized harassment/violence

The Equal Opportunities Officer supports employees and students in all cases of gender-based discrimination and harassment as well as experiences of violence. Problems can be discussed and solution strategies developed in a confidential meeting.

If necessary, the Equal Opportunities Officer will represent your interests to the university management, faculty or your supervisor. Please do not hesitate to make an appointment.

Bullying

Long-term problems in the workplace such as bullying are very stressful and should not be played down. Bullying describes repeated, systematic attacks against an inferior person through insults, exclusion, harassment or obstruction of work - often by several perpetrators. This destroys self-confidence, quality of life and ability to work.

Sexualized harassment, discrimination and violence

Sexualized harassment, discrimination and violence are widespread in society and are also part of everyday university life. These assaults cause serious damage to mental and physical health, but are often trivialized or concealed. At universities, this is exacerbated by dependency or hierarchical relationships that make it difficult for those affected to defend themselves against words, gestures or actions.
