"The demands placed on our society and the world of work are constantly changing. Lifelong learning means continuing to develop, update, and share knowledge and skills throughout one’s entire educational and professional career. The University of Siegen provides an open and attractive learning environment with a wide variety of learning formats and access options for different audiences. With ca:lll, we aim to make these offerings even more visible and continue to expand them."

Haus der Wissenschaft [House of Science]
The Haus der Wissenschaft offers a diverse portfolio of event formats that promote the transfer of knowledge from the university to the broader public. These include, among others, the Kinderuni (children’s university), the public lecture series Forum Siegen, reading series with authors, and the citizens’ studies program as part of the Mittwochsakademie.
campus lifelong learning
The campus lifelong learning (ca:lll) serves as a new central platform for information on transfer programs in the areas of academic continuing education and science communication.
The University of Siegen sees itself as a place of learning for people at different stages of life and their careers. In addition to traditional degree programs, it therefore also offers continuing education opportunities for working professionals, alumni, and companies – for example, the part-time Executive MBA program at the University of Siegen Business School. The range of additional qualifications, continuing education, and professional development programs is being expanded in the near future. More workshops and certificate programs are planned.
In addition, the Haus der Wissenschaft (House of Science) offers a diverse program of public events and innovative learning formats for interested individuals of all ages – from children to seniors. There are also special programs for schools and regular exhibitions. This opens up a variety of pathways for citizens to engage with and access the university.
Lifelong Learning (LLL) is part of what is known as the “Third Mission” of universities and constitutes an important component in the transfer of knowledge and research to society. The educational offerings are tailored to the specific needs of each target group and promote exchange between academia and the general public. At the same time, the contributions and experiences of the participants provide new inspiration for the university.

Pilot Phase
The ca:lll was launched as an initiative of the Prorectorate for Teacher Training, Continuing Education, and Sustainability, led by Dr. Barbara Müller-Naendrup.
