The Center aims to bring together subject-related research into language and situated language use, communication and data processing in digital media as well as the development of methods and methodologies of digital media and language research, and to bundle and make available the associated tool development and technical infrastructures.

The Siegerland Research Center brings together under one roof projects whose research focuses on the Siegerland as a cultural region that is unique in many respects.
