International Awards
To recognize international engagement and collaboration, the University of Siegen presents various awards each year.
The DAAD Prize is awarded annually by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) (funded by the Federal Foreign Office) to honor an outstanding international student or doctoral candidate who has distinguished themselves through exceptional academic achievements and, in particular, through remarkable social or intercultural engagement.
Nominations for the 2026 DAAD Prize may be submitted by September 15, 2026, to Kathrin L. Wagner (wagner@rektorat.uni-siegen.de). The guidelines can be found here.

The University of Siegen annually awards a study prize to international early-career researchers at the University of Siegen who have earned an outstanding doctoral degree, sponsored by the Society of Friends and Supporters of the University of Siegen e.V.

awards an annual “Prize for International Engagement” at the University of Siegen. The award is given in recognition of exceptional contributions to the internationalization of the University of Siegen. It is based on a holistic approach to internationalization that encompasses research, teaching, and administration. You can find the guidelines here.
