The project centers on an AI-powered smart-home and vital signs monitoring package designed to support older adults in a long-term care setting.

AI in Medicine: On May 15, 2026, research staff from the .MIGS working group at the University of Siegen discussed current projects with Professor Alam at UC Berkeley. From automated, edge-based ECG analysis (“FACE”) to doctoral research projects on predictive disease progression using large language models and knowledge graphs, as well as the analysis of continuous vital signs data: The research aims to improve diagnostics and reliably support medical processes.
