Family Scholarship - Apply Now!

The University of Siegen’s Family Scholarship supports students with family responsibilities who are facing financial difficulties as they work toward their degree. The goal of the scholarship is to make it easier to balance academic studies and family life and to provide financial relief to students during a particularly challenging phase of their lives. 

The grant is awarded as a monthly payment for the duration of one semester.

 

Who is eligible for funding?

Eligible applicants are enrolled students at the University of Siegen who: 

  • care for and look after at least one child in their own household, are pregnant, and/or care for and look after a family member who requires care,
  • are in the final semester of their degree program,
  • are writing their thesis or can demonstrate a comparable workload required for graduation, and
  • are in a difficult financial situation due to these circumstances.

Additional criteria can be found in the current guidelines and application requirements. You can request the application form upon request!

The application deadline for the upcoming winter semester 26/27:

  • September 1
  • If you are pregnant, you may submit an application even outside the regular deadlines!
