New DFG research funding for Prof. Tobias Stalder

A new, highly funded research project is focusing on a promising method for measuring long-term stress levels. A closer look reveals what is behind it and why the results could be particularly exciting for biopsychological and clinical research.

New DFG research funding for Prof. Tobias Stalder

The project is scheduled to start in fall 2026.

Prof. Tobias Stalder

The German Research Foundation (DFG) has awarded Prof. Tobias Stalder research funding of approximately €378,000 for a new project on the methodological optimization of hair cortisol analysis. The project addresses key methodological questions in hair cortisol analysis and aims to further improve the standardization and validity of the method. The expected findings are highly relevant for stress-related biopsychological and clinical research, in which hair cortisol plays an important role as a marker of long-term hormone activity.
