University of Siegen wins at international symposium

At this year's edition of the international EWEG/2D conference in Fredericia, Denmark, the Solid State Physics working group was not only strongly represented, but also extremely successful.

Catherine Grover received the prize for the best lecture for her contribution on ultrathin Janus membranes. Dina Wilks presented her results on two-dimensional ferroelectrics and was awarded the prize for the best poster. Both papers were written as part of doctoral theses under the supervision of Prof. Carsten Busse.

Every two years since 2013, around 100 scientists from all over the world have come together at EWEG/2D to discuss the latest developments in two-dimensional materials. The conference has established itself as an important international forum in this field.
