IPEM - Chair of International Production Engineering and Management
The Chair of International Production Engineering and Management (IPEM) at the University of Siegen is dedicated to cutting-edge research in the field of production management and to driving innovation through agile collaboration between academia and industry. The research conducted is characterized by close ties to industry. As a result, research projects are often carried out in collaboration with a wide variety of industrial companies. Like the SDFS Smart Demonstration Factory Siegen—in whose development the chair played a key role—the IPEM Chair is located on the Buschhütten Campus, which brings together industry and academia in the field of production engineering in an innovative setting.
“In addition to focusing on research and establishing itself as a reliable and competent partner to the manufacturing industry, a key mission of the IPEM Chair—as part of the University of Siegen—is, above all, to educate outstanding individuals. In this regard, in addition to supporting research assistants, there is a strong focus on student development. For this reason, the IPEM Master’s program was launched in the winter semester of 20/21, which equips students with the necessary skills to excel in an international and digital environment.”
