The graduates of the University of Siegen's women-specific mentoring program (FraMeS) have received their certificates. FraMeS supports female doctoral candidates, habilitation candidates and junior professors from all disciplines in their career planning and development.

Prof. Gallardo Llopis from the Universitat Politècnica de València is spending a year as a visiting researcher at the Department of Architecture. An important topic for him and his colleague at the University of Siegen, Prof. Dr. Thorsten Weimar: the revision of structural engineering.

The University of Siegen is also a place for vocational training. For seven young people, a new phase in their lives began here on August 1.

A new ionization chamber for measuring radon concentration has been developed for an EU project in the Solid State Mechanics department at the University of Siegen. Such highly sensitive chambers require special insulation. The University of Siegen successfully collaborated with the Bad Berleburg-based company REGUPOL.
