The University of Siegen is expanding its services for people with dementia and their families: Effective immediately, people with dementia in the Olpe area can also participate in the ongoing “DECIDE-2” dementia support project.

As the cold season sets in, the risk of catching the flu increases. The University of Siegen is therefore offering its employees on-site flu vaccinations to both support and protect them.

The “KI.Werkstatt Ausbildung NRW” project strengthens young people’s skills in using artificial intelligence during their vocational training. It is a joint initiative of the University of Siegen and the Bildungswerk der Nordrhein-Westfälischen Wirtschaft, supported by the NRW Ministry of Labor.

Computer scientist Dr. Md Shajalal and his co-authors were honored with the Best Paper Award at HCI International 2026. The award recognized their work on human-centered explanations for the detection of audio deepfakes.

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia honors Arndt G. Kirchhoff for his outstanding service to the public good. Kirchhoff has been a member of the University of Siegen’s University Council since 2013 and served as its chair for ten years.
