European Framework of Reference for Languages
The "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" is a basic document for developments of all kinds in the field of foreign language learning, teaching, curriculum and textbook development, as well as the development of examinations. The "Framework of Reference" is based on an action-oriented approach.
A central element of the "Framework of Reference" is the description of the "Common Reference Levels", i.e. language competence descriptions arranged according to difficulty and categories, which were developed on behalf of the Council of Europe.
