Tasks of the WPR
In accordance with the NRW State Staff Representation Act , the Staff Council for Academic and Artistic Staff at the University of Siegen represents employees vis-à-vis the University as their employer.

The WPR represents the following employment groups:

Academic employees and civil servants
-
Academic (senior) councillors and (senior) study councillors in the higher education sector

Teaching staff for special tasks (LfbA), seconded teaching staff, lecturers and specialist teachers

Research assistants with a Master's degree (WHK) and Bachelor's degree (WHB)
The tasks of the Staff Council include the monitoring and co-design of
- Hiring, fixed-term contracts, extensions and terminations
- Working time regulations, vacation regulations
- Occupational health and safety measures, accident reports
- Working methods, service agreements
- building projects
Dates
- Meeting dates of the WPR committee:
- The WPR committee meets weekly, every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
- Meeting dates of the WPR Board:
- weekly, every Monday
- Meeting with the personnel department heads (monthly meeting)
- Meeting with the Rector and Chancellor (quarterly meeting)
- The committee meets with the Rector and Chancellor every 3 months to exchange information. Topics include reports from the university rectors' conferences, university organization, finances, etc.
- Staff Assembly (annual)
- The staff meeting for academic and artistic staff takes place annually.
