The Siegen Forum continues on January 22!
Trade unions are also currently facing challenges. Nevertheless, in the case of the Thyssenkrupp plant in Kreuztal, IG Metall has managed to avert compulsory redundancies for the time being. Peter Richter from IG Metall Siegen will provide insights into the current challenges facing the industrial region and trade union involvement in these contexts.
He will speak on the topic "Industrial region Siegen-Wittgenstein under pressure?"
Forum Siegen: Lecture - Discussion - Exchange
The manifold problems of our time do not allow science to be practiced only in an academic ivory tower. Even if scientific research and enlightenment cannot conjure up patent remedies and concise instructions, they are able to shape many insights and decisions in all areas of society through methodical training, critical questions and conditional information.
Acting in difficult times increasingly requires reflection. The Siegen Forum therefore discusses problems and examines methods that are important for "practice" in politics, business and culture. Representatives from all academic disciplines will have their say - and listen.
A total of nine events will be held under the general theme of "Civil Society under Pressure", each focusing on a different exciting topic from a different discipline.
