The International Office (IO) with its two departments International Student Affairs (ISA) and Welcome Center for International Researchers will be happy to advise you on international projects and funding opportunities for mobility.
Erasmus+
Under the umbrella of the Erasmus+ program, there are funding opportunities in three so-called Key Actions (KA):
- KA 1 - Mobility of individuals
- KA 2 - Partnerships and cooperation projects
- KA 3 - Education policy reform processes
Key Action 1: KA 131
Mobility with program countries (Europe)
The ISA department coordinates the institutional application for the University of Siegen. There are four types of mobility with program countries:
SMS - Study at partner universities
SMP - Internships with companies or other suitable employers
STA - Staff mobility for teaching purposes
STT - Staff mobility for further education and training purposes

This program line enables worldwide cooperation. The sub-projects are managed by the ISA department in an institutional application. The department offers support in the application phase with hints and tips, please contact Ms. Alicia Platt for an initial consultation.

The two (acting) heads of department will be happy to advise you on student mobility and international partnerships, in particular the Focused Partners of the University of Siegen (ISA), as well as on projects for doctoral students/researchers and mobility for research purposes (Welcome Center).

Before submitting to the DAAD:
Once the project and, if applicable, the persons involved have been checked under export control law, the International Office will obtain the approval of the university management for you. You should therefore allow sufficient time (approx. one to two weeks) for the review and approval processes before the deadline. Please also note that project applications with the Focused Partnerships of the University of Siegen
may have priority and therefore projects with other universities may not be approved by the university management. Therefore, please contact the department heads in good time for clarification!
The Welcome Center coordinates the nomination of at-risk doctoral students for the Hilde Domin Program of the DAAD (further information can be found here). The Research Funding Office coordinates the University of Siegen's application process for at-risk researchers within the framework of the Philipp Schwartz Initiative of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (further information can be found here). including job advertisements.
The Research Funding Office
of the University of Siegen offers individual information, advice, support and coaching on research-based project applications in all funding programs of the federal and state ministries, the EU in the current Framework Program for Research and Innovation, the German Research Foundation and various foundations such as the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. You can also register for the FIT (Research, International Affairs and Transfer) e-mail information service via the department.
