The Wednesday Academy had invited guests to its traditional semester tour of the current exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MGK) in Siegen.

To mark its anniversary, the MGK Siegen is presenting the exhibition “25 Years, 25 Works,” which traces the museum’s development through 25 selected works. The works exemplify the significance and artistic focal points within the two collections—the Lambrecht-Schadeberg Collection, featuring the Rubens Prize winners from the city of Siegen, and the Contemporary Art Collection. Significant 20th-century paintings meet outstanding photographs and installation works from the 1960s to the present day. Formal and conceptual approaches are combined with social, political, and global perspectives of contemporary art. The works reflect the history of the exhibition, reveal regional connections, and highlight the significant private and public commitment that has supported the international art museum for the past 25 years.
