Orientation program for international students
Dear students,
Welcome to the University of Siegen! We look forward to welcoming you here soon!
Before the start of the lecture period, the International Student Affairs department offers orientation days for exchange students and international degree-seeking students (Bachelor's or Master's students) who are starting (exchange) studies in Siegen in the winter or summer semester.
Orientation offers on site
During the orientation days, we will help you enrol at the university, prepare your registration with the local authorities if necessary and provide you with information about studying, services and campus life in Siegen.
We are supported by the student group Erasmus Student Network (ESN).
We offer tailored orientation services for each group of international students.

German language workshop
A free German language workshop lasting several days takes place before the start of the winter semester . Registration at the Language Center of the University of Siegen is required for participation. This DaF workshop is NOT a language course that extends over the whole semester (more information below).

Even before you leave for Germany, you can prepare for your studies digitally at any time to minimize culture shock and the flood and processing of new information after your arrival.
The multi-part webinar series with practical exercises and an intercultural component covers topics such as visa application, travel preparations, finding accommodation, arrival, local contacts, preparing for your studies and starting your studies, the German study system, German study culture, etc.
