Sascha Kraus is University Professor of Business Administration and Chair at the University of Siegen. He is also Distinguished Visiting Professor for Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation at the University of Johannesburg (South Africa).
He holds a PhD in Social and Economic Sciences from the University of Klagenfurt (Austria), a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering & Management from the Helsinki University of Technology and a Habilitation from the Lappeenranta University of Technology (both Finland). Before accepting the call to the University of Siegen, he was already a professor at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), the University of Liechtenstein, the École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur in Paris (France), the University of Durham (UK) and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy). He has also held visiting professorships at the Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and the University of Hasselt (Belgium), and was EECPCL-Participating Professor at Harvard University (USA).
His research focuses on strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation and family businesses. He is the author of numerous scientific publications in journals such as Academy of Management Perspectives, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of World Business, Leadership Quarterly or Long Range Planning.
The leading German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche lists Professor Kraus in 3rd place in the category "Current Research Achievement" and 9th place in the category "Lifetime Achievement" in its current ranking of German-speaking business administration researchers (2024).
