The following is required to prove aptitude for the course:
- a qualified vocational training course relevant to the media and
- an average grade of at least 1.5 on the certificate of entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences in the subjects German and English
Recognized, media-relevant vocational training courses are
- Bookseller
- Printer
- Photographer
- Photogravure draughtsman/photogravure draughtswoman
- Photo lab technician
- Design technical assistant
- Commercial media assistant
- Media designer
- Publishing clerk
- Traineeships with the press or radio
- Advertising manager
- or comparable training
Not recognized vocational trainings are
- Office clerk
- Documentation assistant
- Foreign language secretary
- Industrial clerk
- Office communication clerk
- Communications electronics technician
- Technical draughtsman/draughtswoman
Equivalent activities are
- media-relevant specialization in another occupational field
(e.g. as an industrial clerk with permanent employment in the advertising department of a company or
as an administrative employee with planning tasks in a cultural office) - proven media-relevant training and further training of at least 18 months
(e.g. in-house training at broadcasting companies) - own entrepreneurial activity
(e.g. as a publisher or producer)
Not recognized:
- Activities in the field of sales promotion
- Activities in market research
Pre-internship
When applying for the assessment of special aptitude or when applying for a study place, an informal application for recognition of the vocational training or equivalent activity as a pre-study internship must be enclosed. Proof of this must be provided with the relevant certificates.
