The rich and diverse research landscape across the schools leads to a wide range of high-caliber research achievements in a variety of fields.
These research achievements are demonstrated, among other things, by publications that receive national and international recognition, conference presentations and the organization of conferences, the supervision of doctoral and postdoctoral dissertations, as well as the development, securing and managingthird-party-funded research projects , such as the Collaborative Research Center “Media of Cooperation” or the Collaborative Research Center “Transformations of the Popular.”
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities examines, both in individual projects and in collaborative initiatives, the nature and consequences of social processes, such as demographic change, media transformation, the evolution of linguistic communication, forms of cultural coding, and their historical development.

In addition, the faculty promotes academic exchange through colloquia and networks to generate and disseminate innovative research findings.
Habilitation
The habilitation process at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities enables researchers who have earned a doctorate to acquire the competence to teach and conduct research independently. This process involves writing a habilitation thesis and teaching courses. Successful habilitation candidates qualify for professorships and contribute to the academic community through innovative research and teaching.
