Studying and internships abroad
Future teachers are encouraged to gain intensive exposure to the English language by spending at least three months in English-speaking countries. We encourage them - as well as BA students - to apply for exchange programs with our partner universities in the UK, Ireland and the USA. Popular Teaching Assistant opportunities in the UK and USA, as well as self-organized internships at schools in North America, Australia and New Zealand, allow future teachers to gain insights into school systems abroad. BA and MA students have also been successful in gaining admission to study programs or internships in these English-speaking regions. The curriculum of all degree programs offers "credit points" for field trips that promote exposure to English-speaking cultures.
All students are encouraged to complete internships to gain practical experience in their professional field. They will find support in the Self-Study Center SESAM: Self-Study Center for Language-related Work with Multimedia
with modern workstations and extensive resources. SESAM is run by the Language Center
which also offers a variety of additional practice-oriented (language) courses.
