Central GitLab for Universities in North Rhine-Westphalia

The University of Siegen is participating in the git.nrwpilot project.
This gives University of Siegen faculty, staff, and students access to the central GitLab instance for universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. The service is powered by a GitLab Ultimate license. GitLab Ultimate is the premium subscription for GitLab, providing access to the tool’s full range of features.

 

git.nrw is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia( ).
This initiative is carried out by the ministry in collaboration with theDigital University of North Rhine-Westphalia( ). 
 

 

FAQ

Employees and students can use the central GitLab instance with their university account and log in here:

Click the “git.nrw University Login” button and then select the University of Siegen. The first time you log in, you must accept the privacy policy and terms of use
to be able to use the service.

Send an email to support@zimt.uni-siegen.de to get support. There is documentation and guidance
specifically for git.nrw, but the comprehensive GitLab documentation
is also helpful.

  • 2 GB of storage per project (repository + LFS + artifacts) 
  • 10 personal projects per user account

    Projects created within a group are not subject to the personal project limit—only the storage limit per project applies.
