How can I reserve a Carrel?
You can reserve a Carrel via the Katalog plus. As soon as a carrel is available, you will be notified by e-mail. The chip keys can be picked up and returned Monday - Friday until 4pm. The chip keys issued must be initialized daily at the device in the entrance area of the library. As soon as the device lights up, the chip key can be used to unlock the carrel.

NEW: Day carrel
Need a quiet, lockable workspace for focused study?
You can now use a day carrel at the Main Library Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) and the Branch Library Unteres Schloss (US).
Simply request a day carrel at the circulation desk.
Please note:
- Available only for students with a valid library card or activated USiCard/ Uni Siegen App.
- Reservations in the Katalog plus or by phone/mail are not possible.
- The loan period is only valid for the current day - from opening to closing of the library.

Workstation trolleys
All carrels are occupied but you still want to store your study materials in the library?
In the Main Library Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) and in the Branch Library Unteres Schloss (US), workstation trolleys are available to store your own documents and borrowed media within the library.
They can be reserved via the catalog plus. The keys can be collected and returned Monday - Friday until 4 pm. As soon as a workstation trolley is available, you will receive a message by e-mail. The rental period is one month this may be extended if the demand permits it. You can also just come by the circulation desk and ask for a workstation trolley.
