The Siegen University Library regularly hosts changing exhibitions. The spectrum of what is presented is broad and includes research and project results by university members, works by regional artists, traveling exhibitions, private collecting passions and much more.
In the main library Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) there is a separate room (AR-UB 041) on level 0 for the presentation of exhibitions. In the Lower Castle Branch Library (US), smaller exhibitions can be shown in the passageway.

"on the other side - encounters on the other side of the world"
With "on the other side - encounters on the other side of the world", the University Library is showing a photographic project by Salomé Weber, created between 2018 and 2020 in New Zealand and Australia. Seen from Germany, the journey begins with the greatest possible geographical distance - and transforms into a gradual rapprochement along the way. The photographs follow this shift in perspective: from iconic landscapes to moments and encounters. What begins as a search for familiar motifs becomes a question about what connects us to places and people.
We cordially invite you to the exhibition opening on March 11 at 1 p.m., where Salomé Weber will describe her travel experiences and present the photo book of the same name accompanying the exhibition.
The exhibition is open from March 11 - April 11, 2026 in the main library Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) during regular opening hours
Monday to Friday from 09:00 - 20:00, Saturday from 10:00 - 18:00.
