In the two-part workshop “Artificial Intelligence and Literature Research,” we’ll show how generative AI tools can be used effectively and responsibly for academic research.
In the first part (Fundamentals), we’ll introduce the core principles of generative AI. The focus will be on both the opportunities and risks—such as those related to data protection, copyright, and bias—as well as criteria for a thoughtful and responsible approach to using AI-supported applications in academic studies.
In the second part (Advanced), the emphasis is on practical application: Participants will expand their knowledge of prompting, test various AI-supported research tools (including licensed services offered by the Siegen University Library), and develop a sound research strategy for their own topic at various stations.
Note: Participation in the introductory workshop is a prerequisite for attending the advanced workshop.
