Carotid Screening
A stroke, or cerebral infarction, is one of the most common causes of death, and in many cases it could be prevented with early detection. In most cases, the cause is “clogged” blood vessels, blood clots, or cerebral hemorrhages. The carotid artery (Arteria carotis) is particularly frequently affected.
Appointment scheduling and registration available starting in August:
We will be happy to confirm your participation in your health insurance provider’s bonus booklet. Please bring the booklet with you to your appointment on the day of the screening. We are unable to provide confirmation of participation after the fact.
Cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks, strokes, or circulatory disorders, are among the most common causes of illness and death in Germany. Pathological changes often progress initially without noticeable symptoms. A cardiovascular screening can help detect functional disorders early on and prevent serious health problems.

Exam details: The exam is performed using an ultrasound device to check your carotid artery for any potential deposits that could impair blood flow. Your blood pressure and heart rate will also be measured to obtain a comprehensive picture of your cardiovascular health. Thanks to detailed imaging, even the smallest changes can be detected early, allowing necessary steps for further evaluation or treatment to be initiated in a timely manner.
