Lecture on the Social Market Economy by Prof. Dr. Cornelia Woll

How does the U.S. manage to extend its domestic law to multinational corporations? How do other countries and the EU respond to this? These are the key questions addressed in the lecture by Prof. Dr. Cornelia Woll on July 2, 2026, at the University of Siegen. Under the term “lawfare,” the practice of extraterritorial extension of the law is critically discussed. She traces this development using case studies from business practice.

Cornelia Woll has had an outstanding academic career, including stints as president of the Academic Board at the renowned Sciences Po in Paris and as president of the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. Cornelia Woll also has a special connection to the city of Siegen: she is the daughter of Artur Woll, the founding rector of the University of Siegen.

The lecture will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6:15 p.m. in US-C 114 (Oberstadt Campus) as part of the lecture series on the Social Market Economy. Admission is free; no prior registration is required.
