Open Access Publishing at the University of Siegen
Publishing in open access is widespread in the age of open science and is required by many research funding agencies. However, this raises many questions for authors: Immediate open access publication or open access via secondary publication? Publishing via repository or publisher? And what about the costs?
Contents of the Self-Paced Online Course
The self-study course provides an overview of the advantages of open access publishing. It presents various publication channels and addresses important issues: different types of open access, selection criteria for journals and publishers, licence selection, contract design, costs and financing options, etc. The publishing services of the University of Siegen will also be presented: Financial support from the Open Access Publications Funds and special conditions at publishers, the Open Access Repository OPUS Siegen and the University Publishing House universi.
To provide more in-depth information and answer individual questions, (optional) open counselling sessions are offered, which can be attended without previous registration:
