Dr. med. Priyanka Böttger

Dr. Priyanka Böttger is a specialist in internal medicine and works clinically in the Department of Cardiology at Giessen University Hospital. She studied medicine at Harvard Medical School and Justus Liebig University Giessen. She also completed a Master's degree in Health Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is currently studying for a Master's degree in Public Health (MPH).

As an external doctoral candidate at the Chair of Health Services Research at the University of Siegen, she pursues an interdisciplinary research profile at the interface of clinical medicine, health economics and health policy. As part of her cumulative dissertation, she is investigating sustainable strategies for the organization of acute cardio- and cerebrovascular care. A particular focus is on health economic evaluations, cost-effectiveness analyses of complex care structures and health policy control and decision-making mechanisms.

She is particularly interested in the evidence-based further development of highly specialized care structures, taking into account efficiency, quality and long-term system sustainability.
