The Internal University Research Funding (HiFF) provides support for travel to a conference where the applicant is making an active contribution (e.g. a presentation or a poster). Conference fees, accommodation and travel expenses are covered on a sliding scale based on income:

Trips abroad:
max. EUR 800 per person per year (50% position, scholarship or without funding) or EUR 550 (75% position) or EUR 400 (100% position) for travel expenses, accommodation and conference fees

Domestic travel:
max. EUR 300 per person per year (50% position, scholarship or without funding) or EUR 250 (75% position) or EUR 200 (100% position) for travel expenses, accommodation and conference fees. 

There is no entitlement to support. Each person can only receive funding twice in total. The lack of alternative funding options must be demonstrated by submitting the following documents:

• Evidence of research into and applications for external funding opportunities (e.g. rejection letter for application to DAAD travel grants for research purposes).
• Confirmation from the supervising professor that funding from the professor’s own resources is not possible.
• A confirmation letter from the Dean’s Office stating that funding from the faculty is not available.

In addition, if conference travel is funded, a contribution about the conference must be prepared for the social media channels or the website of the House of Young Talents (HYT). This will be done after the conference in consultation with the HYT.
