About the image film
From cultural and media studies to sensor and nanotechnology, elementary particle physics, quantum optics or current research in the field of education and social affairs: the University of Siegen is a research-intensive university. This is demonstrated by the steadily increasing third-party funding, which recently reached a new record of 52.5 million euros - and beacons such as two Collaborative Research Centres, a Transregional Collaborative Research Centre, two Research Training Groups, top-class research groups and priority programs as well as excellent individual projects. The university is now presenting its broad research landscape in a new image film. In just under four minutes, the film vividly and vividly conveys how and what scientists are researching at Siegen.
"We want to show what characterizes research here in Siegen - the very good, interdisciplinary cooperation, excellent conditions and short distances. The new image film showcases our strengths in research and teaching and at the same time presents Siegen as an attractive place to work and live," says Rector Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese.
Under the motto "Shaping a Humane Future", the film guides viewers through the university's profile areas and also focuses on teacher training and knowledge transfer: it provides a glimpse into laboratories, offices, lecture halls and libraries. The camera accompanies the researchers in their daily work, which often goes beyond the boundaries of their own subject. Impressive drone shots show that the University of Siegen not only has a state-of-the-art infrastructure in its immediate vicinity, but also plenty of beautiful nature to offer.
The new image film is aimed at research and cooperation partners in Germany and abroad as well as (future) employees in research and teaching. However, students should also be able to identify with the content of the film.
