Learn Italian in Rome
Italian language course incl. cultural program at levels A1 and B1 (UNIcert®I certificate course)
In August 2026, we will once again offer the Summer School in Rome for the target levels A1 and B1 together with the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. As part of the B1 course, it is possible to obtain the UNIcert®I certificate.
Participation in the B1 Summer School course is possible if you successfully complete the Italian A2 course in summer semester 2026 or if you successfully completed the A2 course in winter semester 2025/26 or previous semesters.
The A1 course is a beginners' course for participants with no previous knowledge. However, it is expected that you acquire a few basics in advance so that you are not "speechless" when you arrive in Rome.
Summer School in Rome 2026
Registration
You can register for the summer semester 2026 via your university's portal.
As we always have many applications, there is a two-stage selection process: First, we offer an information meeting, which is the first admission requirement.
Mandatory start meeting: Friday, April 10, 2026, 6 p.m. via Webex
We will meet again separately with applicants for the B1 level on April 15 to provide information about the content and requirements of the B1 level. For admission to the A1 level, we ask for a short profile with information about your motivation. Binding admission to the Summer School will follow.
Seminar location
Università Pontificia Salesiana (Piazza dell`Ateneo Salesiano, 00139 Rome)
Accommodation
You are responsible for your own accommodation. When booking your accommodation, we recommend that you consider the proximity to the seminar venue and allow sufficient time on the seminar days so that you are on site in time for the daily course start. The seminar location is connected to the metro stop "Jonio", line B. Accommodation close to a metro B station is therefore a good solution.
