Counterstatement

n the issue of May 3, 2025, the Siegener Zeitung claims in the teaser on page 1 through the caption and visual design that the incumbent Rector of the University of Siegen has made the election non-public by changing the rules of procedure of the University Election Assembly.

The University of Siegen states: This statement is false. In fact, the rules of procedure were adopted by the University Election Assembly itself on February 14, 2025. The Rector had no influence on this decision, nor does she have the right to vote in this body. The newspaper's claim is therefore not true. The university reserves the right to take legal action.
