Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Open University 2026

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was also represented with its own program at the University of Siegen’s Open University 2026 event. At the booth, prospective students, high school students, and visitors could learn about studying at the University of Siegen, the various degree programs, and the opportunities in mechanical engineering.

In addition to academic information, the focus was on two hands-on activities. Visitors could test drive a model hydrogen car and thus experience firsthand how alternative propulsion technologies work. In addition, the “Magic Suitcase” was on display, featuring exciting effects and technical insights that sparked wonder and curiosity.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering’s booth thus offered a successful mix of counseling, discussion, and hands-on technology. The Open University 2026 was therefore a great opportunity to bring the fascination of mechanical engineering to life and give interested visitors a direct insight into studying and technology at the University of Siegen.
