Film evening of the subjects Spatial Design (Architecture) and Composition (Music)
Directed by Prof. Ulrich Exner (Architecture) and Prof. Martin Herchenröder (Music)
Perceiving transience, making transience and the ephemeral visible and audible, has always been one of the important goals of projects that the disciplines of architecture and music have carried out together at the University of Siegen since 2014: They have always identified a special, often 'difficult' place, examined it with the analytical tools of their disciplines and then artistically reinterpreted it through a public performance or a film project.
Tonight's film evening shows the video documentation of the two most recent projects for the first time: "Fachwerk" (half-timbered house) used the front and surroundings of the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Siegen with music, light and a large-scale video projection on the theme of half-timbered houses and the Siegen photographer couple Bernd and Hilla Becher, "Spiegelungen" (reflections) staged the Siegen Löhrtor swimming pool in its classical-modern beauty as an ideal location for installation, video projection, light, electronics, live music and sound art.
