Exchange, inspiration and networking - the university secretariat network continues to grow

How do university secretariats manage to share knowledge, gain new perspectives and develop their day-to-day work together? The latest exchange of experiences of the University Secretariat Network at the University of Siegen provides exciting insights into this.

The University Secretariat Network at the University of Siegen is constantly evolving: with regular meetings, new exchange formats and growing participation, it strengthens the networking of university secretariats across Schools and departmental boundaries. The most recent exchange of experiences within the University Secretariat Network, an officially recognized further training event at the university, once again showed how valuable this collegial dialogue is for day-to-day work. Around 30 employees came together to exchange views on current topics in an open, committed and constructive atmosphere.

The focus was on practical insights into other areas of work at the university. In particular, the contributions from the Internal Security / Threat Management team and the University Library met with great interest and opened up new perspectives on interfaces that directly affect many secretariats in their daily work. In addition, topics such as continuing education, digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence in the university context were addressed - areas that will continue to shape the work of secretariats in the future.

A planned contribution on the possible uses of Webex could not take place as planned during the event due to technical difficulties. The topic will now be addressed in a separate online format - with the advantage that there will be more room for specific application questions, practical examples and direct exchange. This means that an unplanned absence can result in additional added value for all interested parties.

Looking ahead, it is also clear that the network thrives on participation. With formats such as the monthly lunch meetings, the Webex area "Short questions for the network" and the regular exchange of experiences, more and more opportunities are being created to share knowledge at a low threshold, make contacts and learn from each other. The next exchange of experiences will take place on November 17, 2026 - a good opportunity to deepen existing contacts and take away new ideas for everyday work.
