Psychology Graduate from the University of Siegen Receives Nationwide Conference Scholarship
After being awarded a nationwide conference scholarship, the psychology graduate presented his master's thesis to an audience of experts in Berlin
A notable achievement for the integration of academic studies and research at the Department of Psychology at the University of Siegen. Psychology graduate Niklas Pütz was awarded a conference scholarship by the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Section of the German Psychological Society (DGPs).
The grant enabled him to attend the 5th German Psychotherapy Congress in 2026 in Berlin, the largest German-language professional congress on psychotherapy, with more than 1,000 participants from academia and practice.
During the congress, Niklas Pütz presented the results of his master’s thesis, titled “Development and Evaluation of Gender-Specific Items for Assessing ADHD in Women,” to an audience of experts. The thesis was completed at the Department of Psychology at the University of Siegen under the supervision of PD Dr. Kristian Kleinke.
The conference scholarship was awarded for the first time by the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Section of the DGPs. Students from all over Germany were eligible to apply for the scholarship. In total, only five students were selected.
The award underscores the importance of supporting early-career researchers while they are still in school. The Department of Psychology at the University of Siegen aims to provide students with early insights into academic work and psychological research. Presenting his own research findings at one of the largest psychotherapy conferences in the German-speaking world represents a special recognition of this effort.
Prof. Dr. Tim Klucken congratulates Niklas Pütz on this achievement. The award demonstrates that students in the department are already conducting research at a high scientific level during their studies and can thus hold their own even when compared to students nationwide.
The Department of Psychology at the University of Siegen shares in Niklas Pütz’s joy and extends its heartfelt congratulations on this special honor.
