The guideline on consent for people with dementia is being updated
The update is being coordinated by Prof. Dr. Julia Haberstroh (Chair of Psychological Aging Research at the University of Siegen) and Prof. Dr. med. Johannes Pantel (Department of Geriatric Medicine at Goethe University Frankfurt) on behalf of the DGGG, DGPPN and DGN. The first edition of the guideline was published on 31.10.2019. The update is intended to promote harmonization with the existing Living Guideline Dementia (S3). The aim is to provide practical guidance on consent for people with dementia in everyday care alongside the framework of the S3 Dementia Guideline. Thus, in addition to patients, not only professionals who diagnose and treat dementia are addressed, but also those who advise, support, care for and/or treat people with dementia - regardless of specialty, context and setting.
