Wolfgang Popp Prize for Niklas Pütz

How does ADHD manifest itself in women - and how can diagnostics become fairer? Niklas Pütz was awarded the Wolfgang Popp Prize for his pioneering research on this question.

The prize recognizes outstanding contributions in the field of gender studies.

The work entitled "Development and evaluation of gender-specific items for the assessment of ADHD in women" was honored. It deals with gender-sensitive diagnosis of ADHD and is the first to examine the structure of symptoms in female-socialized adults with an ADHD diagnosis. The aim is to make differences in the presentation of symptoms more visible and to further develop existing diagnostic procedures accordingly.

The Wolfgang Popp Prize is awarded by the University of Siegen and commemorates the literary scholar Wolfgang Popp, who was one of the early initiators of gender research in Germany.
