Felix Ludewig

Felix Ludewig studied music education for high schools and comprehensive schools at the University of Siegen from 2014 to 2021, with a major in classical percussion. He also received training in German language and literature and educational sciences.

Even during his bachelor’s program, he explored contemporary learning environments and wrote his bachelor’s thesis on the influence of architecture on school settings for learning and teaching. In the process, his interest in reception research grew, and he devoted a chapter of his thesis to this topic. This interest intensified during his master’s program with the appointment of Prof. Dr. Bernd Clausen to the chair of Music Education. In his master’s thesis, Felix Ludewig ultimately examined the phenomenon of “open-eared listening” and linked it to attention processes during music listening.

After completing his studies, he began his teaching internship in 2021 at the Center for Practical Teacher Training in Siegen and was assigned to the Wilnsdorf High School. There, he passed his second state examination in 2022. Since 2022, he has been a teacher of music, technology, and German at the Auf dem Schießberg Comprehensive School. In October 2024, he also assumed the role of conductor and musical director of the Fritz Busch Music School Symphony Orchestra.

Since August 2025, he has been on secondment to the University of Siegen, where he works as a research assistant in the Music Education team led by Prof. Dr. Bernd Clausen.
