Lena-Maria Kramer is a certified vocal pedagogue and singer with extensive experience in university teaching, music school instruction, and private voice lessons. Among other positions, she has served as a lecturer at the Folkwang University of the Arts and the State Music Academy of North Rhine-Westphalia. Her areas of teaching include voice, teaching methodology, and vocal physiology.
As a singer, Lena-Maria Kramer has extensive stage and concert experience, including performances at the Aalto Music Theater in Essen. Her artistic focus is on classical singing. In addition, she works across genres with pop and musical theater repertoire. With her song duo, Duo NADA, she also performs internationally and has made guest appearances in the U.S., among other places.
At the heart of her vocal pedagogy is a voice-training approach grounded in vocal physiology, body awareness, and individualized instruction. In this approach, Lena-Maria Kramer combines the tradition of functionally oriented vocal pedagogy according to Franziska Martienssen-Lohmann with the concepts of functional voice training according to Cornelius L. Reid, as well as other perspectives on voice work. Her approach is enriched by comprehensive training through the Estill Figure Proficiency (EFP) program, several years of experience with Complete Vocal Technique (CVT), and advanced training in voice and speech work based on the methods of Kristin Linklater.
In addition to her teaching activities, Lena-Maria Kramer works as a vocal coach with professionalsingers and choirs and has many years of experience working with children’s and youth choirs.
Her teaching, workshop, and lecture activities have taken her to universities and educational institutions both in Germany and abroad, including Stellenbosch University in South Africa.
