Cognitive VillAge: Adaptive learning, technical everyday companions for the elderly (CogAge)

.

CogAge

Project description

The project addresses demographic aging by developing a simple, adaptive, and networked technical support system that helps older people live independently in their familiar environments. Unlike traditional smart home approaches, it emphasizes user participation, integration with social networks, and adaptation to different living contexts (urban and rural). The system uses intelligent glasses and customizable sensor networks to learn from user behavior and distinguish emergencies from minor issues. An interdisciplinary consortium supports its development to ensure practical, social, and political feasibility.
