Performance investigation of the toroidal tuned liquid column dampers for the vibration control of offshore wind turbines using the real-time hybrid simulation method
The research project investigates the use of a toroidal liquid column damper (T-TLCD) for the vibration control of offshore wind turbines. Using real-time hybrid simulation, the interaction between the damper and the support structure is analyzed both experimentally and numerically. The aim is to develop a multidirectional damping system that effectively reduces wind, wave and earthquake excitations.
The project is being carried out as part of a tandem project in cooperation with researchers from Tsinghua University.
