Radiation protection for full, high and basic protection devices

(R3 & R4, in cooperation with the KIT)

Target group: Radiation protection officers and persons who are to act as such in their area of work, who need to refresh their specialist knowledge or who work directly with the relevant equipment. (Every 5 years).

Note: In lectures and practicals, the course imparts the knowledge required to acquire the specialist knowledge for the operation of X-ray equipment and interfering radiators, which correspond to full protection, high protection or basic protection devices in terms of design, properties and mode of operation.

Due to the high seminar costs, we ask for binding registration. If a participant is unable to attend, please cancel early to allow people on the waiting list to participate.

Prerequisites: The approval of the supervisor must be obtained prior to registration.

Costs: None (borne by the university).

  • Legal basis, recommendations and guidelines
  • Legal status of radiation protection officers
  • Tasks and duties of radiation protection officers
  • Type approvals and expert examinations
  • Radiation physics basics
  • Effects of radiation on humans and the environment
  • Radiation protection technology and safety
  • Dose terms, quantities and dosimetry
  • Design, function and radiation protection with regard to X-ray equipment and interfering radiators
  • The course concludes with an examination. Successful participation is officially recognized by the competent authority for the acquisition of specialist knowledge for the specialist knowledge groups R3 and R4 (module RM). Recognition is valid nationwide.
