Description

Semester:

Winter semester

SWS/ECTS: 6

Recommended for:

Master's students

Prerequisites

Students must have successfully completed module 4INFBA020 “Introduction to Visual Computing” or possess equivalent knowledge.

Exam type:

Oral

Register for this course on Moodle (https://moodle.uni-siegen.de/); the registration key will be sent to you via unisono email.

Lecture materials will be uploaded as slides to Moodle; the lecture will be held in person. The exercise sheets will be uploaded to Moodle, and the solutions will be discussed during the in-person session.

Objective:

Scientific visualization deals with the visual representation of simulation and measurement data from medicine, the natural sciences, and engineering. The focus is on interactive techniques for mapping abstract data fields onto representable geometries.

Contents:

  • Grid Types and Interpolation
  • 2D scalar fields
  • Vector field topology and particle trajectories
  • 2D and 3D Flow Visualization
