Multifaceted, inspiring, individual!

Ever since I learned to read, I have been fascinated by the world of literature. Books are my passion. After graduating from high school, I therefore decided that English and American Literature should form a major part of my studies. During my research for a suitable degree course, I came across the interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree course in LKM. The Bachelor LKM in English combines literary studies with contemporary media and popular culture. This gave me a broad overview of Anglophone literature and media and I learned to apply cultural theories to these different areas. During my studies, I placed my individual focus on American literature and culture and also wrote my Bachelor's thesis in this subject area. In addition to the versatility and individual choices, the good student support is another plus point. The lecturers are very helpful and are always on hand with help and advice if you have any questions or difficulties. From my second semester onwards, I was able to work as a student assistant at the department myself and was thus able to gain important experience in the academic field. After three exciting years in Siegen, I decided to complete my Master's degree in "American Literature and Culture" in Sweden. During my Master's degree, I realized time and again that my Bachelor's degree at the University of Siegen gave me the best qualifications to be able to hold my own internationally. For my professional future, I could imagine working in the academic field or entering the publishing industry. If you are a literature enthusiast, curious and open to new, exciting ways of thinking, I can warmly recommend the Bachelor LKM.
